December 2013

You started sitting in a Bumbo chair!  It is so fun to see you getting bigger and stronger every day.  You love sitting up and looking around!
When we went to Cincinnati for Christmas you sat in an exersaucer for the first time and you LOVED it!  You're getting so big!
You also had solid food for the first time - a mushed up banana!
 You liked it!
 You just love your Daddy.
My sweet boy.
 You and Daddy
 1st Christmas!
You fell asleep holding your ball--adorable.
Griffin and Grace love crawling in the co-sleeper with you!
They decorated you with Christmas lights and you surprisingly enjoyed it!

Love.

Grant,

I went back to work last week and it was nearly impossible to say goodbye to you.  I love you so much buddy, and I miss you all day long.  Your Grammy is watching you while I'm at work and you seem to be doing well.  You love to be talked to these days and it is the best thing to come home to - you just laugh and smile when we talk to you.  I want you to know how hard it was to leave you for work each morning and how much I look forward to seeing you when I get home.  The time away from you during the day has made me treasure my time with you so much.  I wish I could bottle it up and keep you little forever; but I know you'll be on the move before I know it.  I love holding you, hearing your squeal, nursing you, and singing to you.  You're the best buddy!

Love you,
Mama

November - getting bigger every day!

At 3 months old, November was a big month for you!  It seems you woke up a bit more this month and started interacting a lot more.
Here we are at a park - you're such a trooper!
You started sitting in the Bumbo!  It has made us all so happy - Griffin and Grace love being able to talk to you in it, you love being able to sit on the counter while we cook dinner, and it's nice to be able to put your down every once in awhile!  You really do enjoy it though!
I love this picture of you - you look so happy!  Ironically we were at the doctor; I took you because you randomly started crying around-the-clock and I could tell you were in pain.  Dr. Staerz said you have reflux and you've been much happier since we started you on medicine.  It was weird that you developed it around 3 months old, but she said she thinks it's because of a shot you received at your 2 month appointment messing with your intestines somehow.
You started paying more attention to toys  and love the gym mat thing!
You just love to be talked to!
You moved into a crib and look so small in it!

Thanksgiving - my biggest blessing!

3 months old

Dear Grant,

You are three months old and really couldn't be any cuter!  You are growing up so fast ... you're outgrowing your three month clothes, sitting in the bumbo chair, playing independently under the gym mat toy, and cooing and singing to us!

You're still eating about every three hours and napping quite a bit.  We have you on Zantac now for reflux and you're a bit happier now with that.

My favorite times with you are when you're alert and happy - you get so delighted when we talk to you.  It makes me think you're going to be a social little guy, and so far you're proving to be pretty easy-going too.

At your 3 month appointment, you did great.  You weight 12 lbs. 3 oz. (50th percentile) and your length was in the 90th percentile - you're long!

We love you Grant!

Your 1st Halloween

Grant,
You were a bumblebee for Halloween, mostly because it was a warm costume!

You slept through most of the evening, but looked cute doing it.

You  joined us Trick-or-treating and had a bottle along the way : )

Rolling over and sitting in the Bumbo!

Dear Grant,

Today you rolled over from your tummy to back for the first time!  It completely surprised me.  I laid you on your tummy while I was running your bath and turned around a second later to see you on your back - you looked a little stunned!

You also sat in the Bumbo for the first time tonight - a big deal - this means you can sit up with some support and look around!  You seem to really like it, and Griffin and Grace love being able to play with you while you're in the Bumbo!

You are growing up so fast Grant!

Love you!

Your first flight

Grant,
You took your first flight November 8, 2013.  You and I flew to Iowa to celebrate Gabby's 90th birthday.  You did great on the flight!
You slept most of the flight but were all smiles when you woke up!
 Meeting Gabby
You and BeBop ... you love mirrors!
Jordan and Peyton were excited to hold you!

You at about 2 months old - smiling and snuggly!

Grant,
Each morning we walk while Griffin and Grace ride their bikes to school.  Afterwards I try to get a run in but they usually end up like this:
You all snuggled up in your carrier
 Here we are
I love these moments with you Grant; I'm truly cherishing each day with you!
This was on my 30th birthday - you came to lunch with Daddy and I and were all smiles!  It was the best gift I could ask for to see you two smiling at each other!
 I love you!
You are such a happy little guy, it has been fun to see a glimpse of your personality as you're getting a bit older ... we love you so much Grant!
